There are several health conditions to notify your artist about that can interfere with your ability to get or heal a tattoo. Anything from medications and allergies, to illness and communicable diseases. Some examples of these are:
Antibiotics
Accutane or similar acne medications
Hemophilia
Blood pressure and blood pressure medication
Chemo therapy
Iron deficiency
Allergies such as red dye 40, latex, green soap, or anything else that could pertain to tattoo procedure
Recent wounds or surgeries
Bloodborne or sexually transmitted diseases
Bacterial, viral, or fungicidal skin infections
Substance abuse, including alcoholism
If you're unsure about any condition you may have would affect your ability to receive a tattoo or the healing process, we strongly recommend discussing the tattoo with your primary physician.
